There are few cozy games as successful and beloved as Stardew Valley, so it’s no wonder it has received regular updates since its 2016 release. If you’re a fan of the game, you’ve no doubt been looking forward to its new 1.6 update, which brings some pretty substantial changes and bug fixes to improve the gameplay experience. Unfortunately for some players, the update has only been released on PC so far, meaning console players have been left wondering when they’ll get an opportunity to see all of the fresh changes in the game. Here’s when console players will be able to enjoy all the new content on their farms
When is Stardew Valley update 1.6 coming to consoles?
Release date for Stardew Valley console & mobile 1.6 update: November 4th
— ConcernedApe (@ConcernedApe) September 22, 2024
At long last, developer ConcernedApe made a tweet announcing that the 1.6 update would arrive on console and mobile on November 4. That includes all consoles, such as PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch, plus iOS and Android. The original 1.6 update launched in March of this year, meaning all other platforms will have waited eight months to see the new content.
In a response to a comment left on the original tweet, ConcernedApe confirmed that you can experience all the new content in 1.6 with an existing save, but stated that “it would be ideal to start fresh. Some new things, for example, are different in year 1 than in year 2+. Besides, it’s fun to start a new farm right?”
If you want a sneak peek at what all that new content is, you can check out Stardew Valley‘s 1.6 patch notes.
You should also be keeping an eye out for Haunted Chocolatier updates now that it looks like ConcernedApe will have the bandwidth to focus on it.
