Check out this first, in-depth look at Halo: Nightfall, the Ridley Scott-produced live action series based on Bungie/343 Industries’ hit shooter franchise. The series will serve as a prequel to the upcoming Halo 5 Guardians. One of the first announced projects of Microsoft’s Xbox Entertainment Studios, it survived the short-lived studio’s collapse in July 2014.
Meet Jameson Locke (played by Mike Colter), a covert agent for the elite intelligence agency Oni. He leads the show’s scrappy group of operatives from a bucolic Earth to much more forbidding environs. Locke’s journey forms the heart of the show, providing the backstory to his character whom fans will meet again in Halo 5.

The show’s producers are excited to share another, more human side of the Halo universe. “It also allows us to explore the Halo environment in a much more, sort of primal way, in the sense that these characters are literally coming to life” said Dave Zucker, president of Scott Free Productions.
Halo: Nightfall will arrive later this year, comprising five episodes released as streaming video through Halo: The Master Chief Collection and The Halo Channel app on Xbox. It will bridge the time between the events of Halo 4 and Halo 5.
