As you are running for your life while playing Skyrim, dragons chasing you down with the intent of murdering you horribly, you may pause to wonder why the voice of an elder sounds so familiar as he screams that you are about to die. The answer is because Bethesda is not messing around when it comes to the voice cast of its highly anticipated RPG, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
The cast list, which was announced today, includes a handful of awards winners, nominees and several well-known actors. Most notable among the cast are Academy Award nominees Joan Allen, Christopher Plummer and Max Von Sydown.
Allen (Nixon, The Bourne Supremacy) will voice Delphine, one of the last members of the Blades, an ancient group of warriors dedicated to protecting the emperor. You will cross paths with Delphine several times as you both attempt to discover why the dragons have returned.
Christopher Plummer (The Last Station, Priest) will voice Arngeir, an elite Greybeard elder that lives in isolation on top of Skyrim’s largest mountain.
Max Von Sydow (Dune, Pelle the Conqueror, Robin Hood) will lend his voice to the role of Esbern, an agent and chronicler of the Blades that will act as a teacher of sorts to you in how to combat the new evil.
Joining them will be Lynda Carter (Wonder Woman) as a Nord hero that helped fight off the dragons in the past, Michael Hogan (Battlestar Galactica) as the Imperial General Tullius, Vladimir Kulich (Smoking Aces) as Tullius’ enemy, Claudia Christian (Babylon 5) as Tullius’ top lieutenant, and several others.
You can hear them all on November 11, when The Elder scrolls V: Skyrim is released on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
