The soundtrack for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 might be its most modern feature

The soundtrack has been an integral part of the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater franchise since the game’s inception, since you’ll no doubt hear each song countless times as you memorize level layouts and perfect skating lines.

Activision has released the soundtrack for the upcoming Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 and while there are plenty of punk and hip-hop tracks, fans hoping to revisit some of their favorite songs are going to find themselves disappointed. The soundtrack features 32 songs – the most of any game in the series to date – but they’re all brand new.

Earlier this month a new art style was revealed for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5, adding a cel-shaded look to the game’s characters. Fans who had been disappointed in the trailer for the game released in July didn’t find that the new look did much to change their opinions. While the soundtrack features a mix of well-known and under-the-radar bands, it remains to be seen how longtime fans will react.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One hits store shelves on September 29, and will feature 20-person multiplayer. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version of the game, which lacks multiplayer, hits on November 10.

Nostalgia is a powerful thing, as evidenced by the widely positive reception to the release of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2. That package features remakes of the first two games in the series, which originally debuted in 1999 and 2000, respectively, and is available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, right now. No word on whether it will come to other platforms yet.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 is here, and it's a punch straight in the nostalgia gut. In it, you'll be skating around and maximizing your combos, of course, but there are also a handful of collectibles to get your hands on in most levels. One type of collectible is the alien plushy, and they're cleverly hidden in the most obscure locations around each stage. They're not easy to find, but we've got the locations of all 19 alien plushies in this guide -- along with detailed videos to help you find each one.

Finding all 19 will get you access to the coveted Roswell Alien character, who looks absolutely bonkers doing tricks on a half-pipe -- but that's what makes him so cool. We'll also walk you through getting your hands on Roswell after you've collected all the plushies because the game doesn't make it obvious.

New Atari 50 DLC shows the Intellivision acquisition is already paying off

Digital Eclipse's Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration is an excellent and comprehensive look back at the company's now classic video game lineup, with games to play and extra content to interact with. So far, it's gotten one DLC: The Wider World of Atari, that added even more titles. Now, it's about to get its second, thanks to an acquisition it made earlier this year.

Atari announced The First Console War on Friday, and it's about, as you can guess, the company's first console war with the Intellivision, although it'll touch on a specific element of it. In the 1980s, Mattel was publishing games on the Intellivision. At some point, it decided to release versions of these console exclusives for its main competitor, the Atari 2600, under the M Network label. There are 19 of these games coming to Atari 50 with The First Console War, which is set to launch on November 8 for PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 Atari 50 owners.
