For a free-to-play game that was already released in Russia well over year ago, Crytek is being remarkably protective of its upcoming FPS Warface. Crytek announced at Gamescom that the shooter – which, it bears repeating, was released in 2012 in Russia – will enter another closed beta. Even though there is no release timeframe and the game already had a closed beta that began in January, Crytek claims this will be the “final phase of beta testing.” For the game that was already released in 2012.
Fans looking to get in on the action (that aren’t in Russia and already in the action) can sign up now at www.Warface.com for the beta (or would it be a gamma testing session at this point… maybe delta?). It is open to residents of North America, Europe, and Turkey.
Warface is a CryEngine 3-powered first-person shooter that offers a series of co-op missions against AI enemies, as well as a competitive mode. For more details, check out our hands-on with the game from GDC 2012.
