YouTube is on its way to PS4, a development that’ll allow users to publish videos of their gaming exploits to the popular Google-owned site with a simple press of the DualShock 4’s share button.

The announcement came during Sony’s press conference on Monday at E3 in Los Angeles.

“Sharing your greatest gaming achievements on YouTube will be a piece of cake on PS4 thanks to the dedicated sharing capabilities at the very heart of the PS4,” PlayStation’s Sarah Ali said in a blog post Monday.

The launch of the new feature will see YouTube offered as a social option – alongside Facebook, Twitter, Twitch and Ustream – accessed by hitting the controller’s share button.

“In just a couple of quick steps, you can go from playing your favorite games to publishing videos on your own YouTube channel,” Ali explained. “You’ll also be able to see your friends’ shared YouTube videos using the ‘What’s New’ feed.”

Besides the integrated sharing functionality, there’ll also be a new YouTube app for the PS4 offering users easy access to the video-sharing site’s vast range of content, including YouTube channels, videos and personalities.

Sony hasn’t yet offered a specific date for the launch of the PS4’s new YouTube features, saying only that they’ll arrive in the fall.

Hollow Knight: Silksong is also coming to PS4 and PS5

Team Cherry confirmed that the highly anticipated Hollow Knight: Silksong will be on two more platforms at launch: PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
The official PlayStation Twitter account revealed the news this morning, adding PS4 and PS5 to a list of Hollow Knight: Silksong platforms that include PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Hollow Knight: Silksong is a sequel to Hollow Knight, one of the most critically acclaimed Metroidvania games of the past decade. Hollow Knight: Silksong follows Hornet, a character from the first game, as she explores the unfamiliar world of Pharloom. When Team Cherry announced the indie in February 2019, it only confirmed that the game was in development for PC, Mac, Linux, and Nintendo Switch.
The game went MIA after an appearance at E3 2019, only for it to triumphantly reemerge as one of the first announcements of the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase in June 2022. Although we know that Hollow Knight: Silksong will be available through Xbox Game Pass on PC and Xbox platforms, it's good to know that those who prefer to try the game on Nintendo Switch or PlayStation will still have access to the game on day one.
Unfortunately, this PlayStation announcement did not come alongside a new trailer or release date confirmation, so Hollow Knight fans are still left eagerly awaiting its follow-up. Microsoft did claim that every game in its June showcase was "targeted to launch in the next 12 months," though, so it's very possible that Hollow Knight: Silksong will be released for PC, Mac, Linux, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S in the first half of 2023.

PS Plus bolsters its lineup with Deathloop, Sly Cooper, and more
Colt from Deathloop aiming his pistol.

Sony has revealed its PlayStation Plus offerings for September, and it's looking to be quite a haul for subscribers, with substantial new additions across every tier of the service. Revealed via the PlayStation Blog, the company has shared that next month will see huge hitters like Deathloop, Assassin's Creed Origins, and Need for Speed Heat join the catalog – and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

The most notable release to come via September's Extra tier is no doubt Deathloop. Arkane Lyon's immensely popular time-looping shooter was one of 2021's best-reviewed games, so it should incentivize some subscribers to upgrade to the second tier of the service. The arrival of Assassin's Creed Origins, Watch Dogs 2, and Rayman Legends also show that Ubisoft is following through with its goal to bring plenty more of its expansive catalog to PS Plus.
