As if the company’s snowsport gear wasn’t steezy enough already, Nike’s latest set of snowboard boots will apparently feature light-up LED swooshes.
Now, before you go and dismiss this as a cheap gimmick that Nike’s using to dress up a sub-par boot, take a step back and look at the specs. These boots look ridiculously stacked on paper.
First of all, the boots feature midsoles made with Nike’s patented Lunarlon foam for a soft ride and improved impact resistance. Nike’s been putting this material into shoes for a while now, and we have yet to find a negative review of the stuff. Invented by Nike, Lunarlon foam is 30 percent lighter than traditional Phylon, and allows the force of impact to be more evenly distributed, which helps reduce painful pressure points on feet. Based on our experience with Nike’s Lunarlon running shoes, we’re willing to bet these boots are uber-comfortable.
In addition to Lunarlon midsoles, The LunarEndor boots also feature a customizable flex line system that allows you to you choose from three levels of stiffness. This means you’ll be able to quickly adjust the tightness/responsiveness of your boot on the fly, which is perfect for riders who like to ride both park and backcountry.
Unfortunately these badboys aren’t for sale yet, but we’ll keep you posted on availability. Stay tuned for a hands-on feet-on review in the coming months.
