Sanyo Fisher showed up the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last week with news of new widescreen high definition televisions and a high definition, 5.1 megapixel digital camera.
The new digital camera, the Xacti HD1, is what Sanyo Fisher is billing as the world’s first high definition compact digital media camera. Slated for a late March release with a price tag of $799.99, the Xacti HD is designed to record both 720p high definition video as well as 5.1 megapixel digital still images to a standard SD memory card. Features of this new camera include a 2.2†OLED display, a 10x optical zoom and 10x digital zoom, an ergonomic, one handed grip and anti-shake technology.
Sanyo Fisher’s new televisions were broken up into two announcements. The first focuses on the new 55†PLV-55WHD1 and 65†PLV-65WHD1 widescreen, high definition televisions. Both will be available in the third quarter of this year. Features of these two slender models include 3-LCD processing, rear projection, 720p high-definition resolution, 10-bit video processing and a HDMI interface.
Sanyo Fisher’s other televisions are the new 32†SLT-3276S and 26†SLT-2676S. Both will also be available in the early third quarter. Features of these new 16:9 widescreen LCD high definition televisions include integrated HDTV tuners, detachable speaker systems, removable bezels, HDMI support and 1366 x 768 resolution.
