How to turn off subtitles on Netflix on almost any device
An image from the Netfllix show Arcane, with the subtitles menu on screen for Apple TV.

Subtitles deliver an easy way to know what's actually going on in a show or movie, even when it's in another language, or the dialog is so low you can barely hear the characters whispering back and forth. However, once that show has gone off you might be wondering exactly where the subtitle options are hidden in Netflix. How to turn off subtitles on Disney+
The Disney Plus app interface on a smart TV.

Whether you turned on subtitles on Disney Plus to help your kids remember the words to their favorite songs, or you turned down the volume while watching the new Marvel movie so you didn't wake anyone up during naptime, you may not be sure how to turn them back off. While this can be frustrating, don't panic (and don't cancel your subscription!). Turning subtitles on and off is fairly simple once you know where the option is hiding.

Disney+ is the home of streaming for all things Disney, and includes both new original programming and their classic catalog. Thanks to their acquisitions over the last few years, it's also the streaming home of Star Wars, Marvel, and National Geographic. That means there is plenty here to love for what you pay for the streaming service. The closed captioning option makes it easier to understand what's being said on screen, and is a great tool for anyone with auditory processing issues, but it can get in the way for some viewers.

Random people on Instagram and TikTok who suddenly are experts in meteorology for a third. But for a lot of folks, it's still all about The Weather Channel — the ubiquitous channel that, appropriately enough, is all about The Weather. On a Channel.

And, unfortunately, it's time for many in Florida and the rest of the Southeast to keep their eyes glued on The Weather Channel as Hurricane Milton makes landfall this week in the Tampa Bay Area before cleaving its way through the center of the state. Miami looks like it should mostly be spared. Same goes for Northwest Florida, where I live. But models are also starting to show a possible follow-up storm later in the month.
