Streamer Hulu will be bringing the surprise hit Difficult People back for a second season. The comedy, which stars Julie Klausner and Billy Eichner, follows two struggling New York comedians as they undertake such adventures as trying to sell bottled library water-fountain water, and revamping a cafe’s menu with children’s fare at expensive prices.

The series, which is co-produced by Amy Poehler of Parks & Recreation and SNL fame, is a major coup for Hulu, which has had trouble thus far competing with fellow streamers Netflix and Amazon when it comes to creating popular/critically-acclaimed original content.

“We have been big fans of ‘Difficult People’ from Day One and are so happy to have Julie and Billy be part of the Hulu family,” said Hulu exec Craig Erwich in a statement. “I cannot wait to see what a whole new season will bring and am pleased to bring more of their hilarious brand of comedy to fans.”

Alongside Poehler, Dave Becky (Louie, Everybody Hates Chris), Tony Hernandez, and showrunner Scott King executive produce the series. Co-star Klausner is also the show’s creator, an executive producer, and the show’s primary writer.

“I’m the luckiest girl in the world to be able to make more episodes of Difficult People,” said Klausner in a statement. “This must be what it feels like to win the lottery, have a fast metabolism or win an Oscar for My Cousin Vinny.”

The 10 episode-pickup comes in the midst of Difficult People‘s 8-episode first season, which debuted on August 5 and runs until September 16. Unlike Netflix, Hulu prefers to release episodes of its original series weekly. “We want to give viewers an opportunity to discover their favorite shows every week,” said Erwich during the Television Critics Association conference earlier this month. “Like you, we value the shared experience and the joy of the water cooler experience that is television.”

Other upcoming Hulu original series include the Jason Katims drama The Way, Jason Reitman’s comedy Casual, J.J. Abrams’ adaptation of Stephen King’s 11/22/63, and a new season of The Mindy Project following its broadcast TV cancellation.

What is Roku? The streaming platform explained
A roku powered TV hanging on a wall running Roku OS 12.

How do you get your Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, or Prime Video fix? Chances are it's through a streaming device or smart TV, and there's a good chance that it's through a Roku device or one running its pioneering streaming operating system. At this point, cord-cutting is old news, and Roku was one of the earliest companies to drive the adoption of web-based streaming with its self-contained, app-driven devices.

Today, watching something "on Roku" is standard parlance and the company's popular platform can be found baked into some of the biggest TV brands in the world as well as in its own lineup of streaming devices sticks, and set-top boxes. Even so, that doesn't mean you totally get what a Roku actually is. What is Roku? How does Roku work? Do you need a subscription to use it? Is it just a device you buy, or is it software?
