LG is about to drop its class-conquering OLED to $1,800 on Black Friday

lg best price ever g6 oled 4k hdr smart tv b6
When it comes to TVs, 4K and HDR are impressive in their own right, but you’d currently be hard-pressed to find anything that looks better than an OLED TV. The only problem, at least for the time being, is that OLED TVs are pricier than their LED counterparts, often by quite a lot. While they are getting cheaper, LG is going a step further over the next week by offering one of its most popular OLED TVs at a shockingly low price.

Beginning Sunday, November 20, the 55-inch version of the LG B6 OLED 4K HDR Smart TV will be on sale for $1,800, with the 65-inch version available for $2,800. Those are the lowest prices to date for both TVs — more than half off each model’s list price — or in LG’s words: Best. Price. Ever.

HDR (High Dynamic Range) is currently one of the most noticeable advances in TVs in some time, offering greater contrast and color depth. OLED technology takes this even further with the ability to turn pixels completely off, making for the best black levels possible.

Like all of LG’s 2016 OLED TVs, the B6 supports both major current HDR standards, HDR10 and Dolby Vision, meaning you won’t have to worry about certain streaming services or Ultra HD Blu-ray discs not being supported. The TV is powered by LG’s webOS 3.0, featuring built-in HDR streaming from services like Netflix, Amazon, and Vudu.

We are in the process of finishing our review on the LG B6, and as expected, it continues to offer the best picture you can buy … for now.

This promotion will be available at both LG’s website and a number of retailers nationwide. The special price will be valid through Black Friday, and come to an end on Monday, November 28.

LG 2022 OLED TVs get brighter, bigger and … smaller?
The 97-inch LG OLED EVO G2.

The wait is over. LG has taken the wraps off its 2022 OLED TV lineup, and there's plenty to be excited about.

I traveled to LG's U.S. Headquarters in New Jersey ahead of CES 2022 to get a close-up look at all of LG's new 2022 TVs. Given the predictable excitement about LG OLED TVs in general, I'll stay focused on those models in this report, but you can learn about LG's QNED mini-LED TV lineup and some improvements to its Dolby Atmos soundbars here.
