Memorex Times Tunes with iPod Clock Radios

Another day, another batch of iPod docks. Although Memorex has released share of vanilla iPod stereos in the past, its latest duo of docks step outside the norm a bit with full clock radio functionality, allowing users to wake up to their favorite tunes instead of annoying morning DJs.

The company’s low-end entry, the Mi4019, features a low, squatty base with a top-side dock connector and large front display. Besides a small footprint that won’t add much clutter to a crowded nightstand, it also includes a flip-down door to hide its iPod connectors when they aren’t in use.

The slightly pricier iWakeUp Clock Radio adopts bigger speakers, softer edges, and a more vertical form that nestles the iPod dock down between its towering stereo speakers. Unlike the Mi4019, it also includes a remote for switching up your songs from afar when you’re not slamming the snooze button from under the covers.

Both docks are available immediately. The Mi4019 retails for $39.99, while the iWakeUp is priced at $69.99.

iHeartRadio turns your TV into a holiday-themed music photo frame
iHeartRadio Holiday Visual Playlists

iHeartRadio has a suggestion for Vizio smart TV, Samsung smart TV, and Comcast X1 owners this holiday season. Instead of flipping your TV to the fireplace channel -- which may not have a very inspiring music soundtrack -- why not fire up the iHeartRadio app and tune in to one of the streaming music company's "visual playlists"?

The new feature combines curated music playlists with holiday photo imagery for a continuous festive slideshow set to music. Holiday compilations like iHeartChristmas and iHeartChristmas Classics are the most obvious choice for those looking to get in the holiday mood, but they're not the only options. If you'd prefer to see visuals accompanied by fewer Burl Ives and Mariah Carey tunes, you can also choose from Top 40, Country, Kids & Family, 80s, Classic Rock, and other stations.

Save $50 on AirPods Pro, Galaxy Buds+ with delivery in time for Christmas
Apple AirPods Pro.

Headphones always make a great gift idea for all the family or simply as a treat for yourself. This holiday season, you can save $50 on the Apple AirPods Pro or Samsung Galaxy Buds+ at Amazon, giving you big savings and plenty of choice for how you want to listen. Even better, both are ready to be delivered in time for Christmas. If you're looking for other headphone deals, we've got you covered there, too.
Samsung Galaxy Buds+ -- $100, was $150

Ordinarily priced at $150, the Samsung Galaxy Buds+ are down to just $100 and that's a pretty great deal. We were big fans of them in our Samsung Galaxy Buds+ review, appreciating their fantastic 11-hour battery life along with their comfortable and lightweight design. The only frustrating thing is that the charging case only carries one recharge but that's less of an issue in earbuds with an 11-hour battery life all on their own. After all, that still means 22 hours of listening, which should be more than enough to ensure you don't need to charge too often. Impressively, just three minutes of charging returns an hour of playtime, which is super useful if you're not very organized. The Samsung Galaxy Buds+ also offer some isolation from distracting noises, which is pretty useful, and a welcome feature at this price.

I didn’t think the HomePod mini could replace my soundbar — but it did
apple homepod mini soundbar replacement opinion home theater 3 of 5

I've never cared much for my home theater setup. In fact, I own a six-year-old LG LED television paired with a soundbar. And if that sounds bad, just know that it’s a 3D TV too. That’s all there is to it. Despite the boring and questionable arrangement, I do enjoy watching a good flick with the volume at nearly full blast, which is my vain attempt at reliving the theater experience at home.

It’s honestly mind-boggling to fathom how I’ve tolerated such a setup for so long. And I never imagined that I could improve it by adding the HomePod mini into the mix. But you know what? Not only is it now part of my home theater setup, but it’s replaced my soundbar for those movie-watching sessions. I never intended for this to happen, but after experiencing the HomePod mini work its magic, I’m convinced it’s a solution for those looking to elevate their audio experience.
How to connect HomePod mini to Apple TV
In order for this to happen, you’ll need a couple of things. First is an Apple TV because the HomePod mini doesn’t have an auxiliary input jack to accept audio from other sources. The Apple TV is necessary to send and sync audio to the speakers.
