Pioneer Electronics has annnounced its new Pioneer Elite BDP-95FD Blu-ray Disc player, which will be the industry’s first Blu-ray player to offer HDMI 1.3 connectivity and support for all high-definition audio formats, including Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital+, DTS-HD High Resolution and DTS-HD Master Audio.
“Our newest Elite BDP-95FD player is like having a movie theater projector delivering best-in-class picture and sound at home,” said Pioneer’s Chris Walker, senior manager of marketing and product planning, in a release. “Its high performance is a testament to our optical disc heritage and commitment to delivering the ultimate home theater by introducing lossless high resolution audio that entertainment junkies will truly appreciate.”
The BDP-95FD will feature HDMI CEC to integrate cleanly wit other high-def home theater components so they can all be controlled from a single remote. The BDP-95FD’s Home Media Gallery feature will enable users to tap into video, music, and photos stored on a Windows PC or other Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) compatible device and accessible over an in-house network.
Pioneer expects to offer the BDP-95FD in October at a suggested retail price of $1,000.
