Samsung yesterday gave out details on six new Home-Theater-in-a-Box systems, most of which are currently at retail. These include the HT-P38 ($249), HT-WP38 ($349), HT-P40 ($299), HT-HDP40 ($399), HT-P50 ($449) and the HT-P29 ($199 – debuts in September).
Features in common across these six HTiB systems include a five disc progress scan integrated DVD player/receiver, USB port to support audio input from the likes of a MP3 player, full set of surround sound speakers, sub-woofer and wide center channel speaker. More unique features include Bluetooth technology in the HT-WP38’s speakers and receiver for wireless sound broadcasting and HDMI output on the HT-HDP40 and HT-P50.
“Samsung’s newest generation of HTiB products unite home theater and PC technology so users can appreciate all their digital entertainment on the best sound system in the house,” said Bill Hadam, Senior Manager, Digital Audio, Samsung Electronics America . “With the comprehensive playback options we’ve packed into these DVD models, the Home Theater in a Box bar has been raised significantly.”
