Sigma Designs announced the availability of the NeoVue transmitter/receiver platform which wirelessly transports audio/video (AV) and texts from notebooks or netbooks to display them in rich 1080p on an HDTV. Sigma says the NeoVue also supports the VGA projector standard, giving it a little versatility. This new plug-and-play platform includes both a transmitter with a USB dongle, based on Sigma’s Coair wireless chipset, and a receiver that connects to a HDTV via a HDMI connector or to a projector via VGA connector.
The NeoVue is showcasing at CES this week—pricing, release date and availability have yet to be disclosed, but we’ll keep you updated.
