There are some major programming line up changes coming to the Sirius Satellite Radio Network September 29, the company said today. Highlights of these changes include the addition of the Howard Stern and Martha Stewart channels.
While Stern will not actually start until January, his new channels will function in a preview mode to keep listeners aware of the build up to their formal launch. The Martha Stewart Living Radio, meanwhile, will focus on advice from Stewart’s team of experts as well as call in advice. The channel will ultimately expand to carry a full roster of shows covering a variety of topics such as cooking, pet keeping and weddings.
Other new channels will include Super Shuffle (a mix of the most popular songs from Sirius’s other music channels), Coffeehouse (singer songwriter and acoustic coffeehouse music), Revolution (faith based rock music) and Spa (new age instrumental music).
“Our new channels and personalities, added to our already compelling programming, gives our subscribers even greater depth and variety of programming to choose from,” said Scott Greenstein, SIRIUS President of Entertainment and Sports.
