Sirius and the Rolling Stones are teaming up to do an all Rolling Stones satellite music radio channel, it was announced today. The channel will air starting August 23 at 9am Eastern time through September 29.
The channel, Sirius said, will be programmed in coordination with the Rolling Stones. It will feature five decades of the band’s music, rare tracks, live cuts and previews from their latest album A Bigger Bang.
Also to be aired on the channel will be nightly concert playbacks where the satellite radio company plays album versions of the band’s music in the order they were performed following each US tour date.
“The Rolling Stones are the essence of the spirit of rock n’ roll,†said Scott Greenstein, President of Entertainment and Sports for SIRIUS, “and with this partnership, SIRIUS is truly giving the Rolling Stones and all SIRIUS subscribers ‘a bigger bang.'”
