For those DJs who have been salivating for a way to incorporate the popular iPod into their sets, Numark has announced the iDJ. The new mixing console comes complete with dual iPod docking stations and a microphone input.
The iDJ features a stylish case, precision switches, and has all the mixing features that DJs come to expect for live mixing. The iDJ is also USB enabled, and may be plugged directly into a computer to upload new music to iPods.
The Numark iDJ’s docking station accepts all model iPods with the bottom connector. The mp3 players can be controlled by onboard, larger iPod navigation controls. The mixer is two channel, with 3-band EQ and gain control, and includes a dedicated microphone. Recording to the iPod is also supported, and additional devices such as CD players and the traditional record player may easily be added to the mix.
The iDJ will have a suggested retail price of $399, and hits the shelves fall 2005.
