TiVo is attempting to expand its reach further into the homes of Americans as the DVR company said today they had signed a deal with the National Cable Television Cooperative, an independent cable company umbrella organization, to offer the TiVo service as a standalone option for the providers’ subscribers.
The NCTC, which represents more than 1,000 independent cable operators servicing 14 million subscribers, will help its members who elect to do so the ability to independently market the TiVo technology, brand and service to their customers. Also available to the NCTC members will be TiVo’s interactive advertising platform.

Pandzik, President and CEO of NCTC. “We know that the way consumers watch and access home entertainment has evolved because of TiVo and believe that through our partnership, we will help our member companies provide the technology that enables customers to watch what they want when they want on TV.”
