This 60-inch Vizio 4K Smart TV gets a huge $250 price cut at Walmart

Time is of the essence here, so we aren’t going to beat about the bush: Walmart has kicked off an unmissable deal on one of Vizio’s best 60-inch 4K TVs, reducing it from $700 to a healthier $450. The retailer is running low on stock though, so those wanting to take advantage of the offer will need to act fast or risk disappointment.

If $450 is still a little too steep, Walmart has the solution — it’s offering customers the option to take that figure and stretch it over a twelve month period, equating to a more manageable $44 per month, including all interest and taxes. It’s also throwing in a $25 rebate, in the form of statement credit, for those who take that route.

Just like the newer M-Series, the 60-inch D-Series on sale is an aspiring and seasoned cord-cutters dream, providing access to a slew of on-demand streaming services — Hulu and Netflix, for example — as well as Vizio’s fantastic WatchFree live TV service, straight out of the box, without the need for a set-top box or streaming stick.

The rest is all quite standard — for a mid-to-high-end 4K TV, at least. The D-Series comes bundled with Vizio’s Spatial Scaling Engine, which spins HD and Full HD content into 4K Ultra HD; multi-format HDR for drawing additional detail from scenes lacking, or rich in, light; and 802.11ac Dual-Band Wi-Fi for smoother streaming.

Measuring in at 60-inches, the Vizio at hand could be a little too big for some. With that in mind, if you’re in the market for something a little smaller, Walmart has a number of fantastic offers on 4K TVs available at the moment — there’s a 43-inch Vizio D-Series for $230 and a 50-inch Samsung UN50NU6900 for $330.

Samsung accidentally reveals price of its 77-inch QD-OLED TV

Usually, when new TVs are announced at CES, it can take months for companies to reveal pricing and availability. And perhaps Samsung was planning to do just that with its 77-inch S95C, its largest QD-OLED TV to date. But the company seemingly let the cat out of the bag on January 26, by including the new model -- and its price -- on its U.S. website, according to Sammobile.

The S95C details are no longer on the website, so Digital Trends can't verify the information, however, a screenshot taken at the time shows a price of $4499.99, making the larger model $1,500 more expensive than its currently available 65-inch S95B, which sells for $3,000. If this seems like a bigger gap in price than we're used to for models that exist in both 65- and 77-inch sizes, it could be because the S95C is going to be Samsung's premium 77-inch QD-OLED, with the planned S90C arriving in a 77-inch size but with fewer features.

Samsung was the first company to show off a 4K TV based on QD-OLED technology at CES 2022, and now, at CES 2023 it has unveiled two new QD-OLED models -- the S95C Samsung OLED and S90C Samsung OLED -- and each will be available as 77-inch models. Both will also be offered in 55- and 65-inch sizes. The news came one day after Samsung Display confirmed it would show its next-gen "QD-OLED 2023" panel at the show in a 77-inch size.

When QD-OLED-based TVs debuted in 2022, Samsung and Sony revealed the first two 4K TVs models within hours of each other: the Samsung S95B and the Sony A95K. Both TVs proved to be absolutely stunning in terms of picture quality, leaving our reviewer no choice but to award them a rare 10/10 rating. But the TVs themselves weren't especially large; only 55- and 65-inch sizes were introduced.

Let us stipulate a few things: When it comes to video, higher resolution is better. Sure, there are diminishing returns — I wouldn't go out and buy an 8K television just yet. But going from 720p to 1080p is a huge leap in quality. Maybe a little less so when you go from 1080p to 4K, but that's also very much going to depend on your circumstances — television size, what room you're in, etc.

And one more stipulation: 4K for World Cup 2022 was pretty much a necessity. If you've ever watched live sports in 4K, you probably already knew that. FuboTV has had some live sports for years now, and YouTube TV — which is the most popular live service in the U.S., and more than five times larger than FuboTV with more than 5 million subscribers at last count — has had it as an option since the summer of 2021. You also could watch in 4K via the Fox Sports app, provided that you already had a subscription to a cable, satellite, or streaming service.
