Walmart has a killer deal on 65-inch Vizio P-Series Quantum 4K HDR smart TVs

VIZIO P-Series Quantum PQ65-F1
Dan Baker/Digital Trends

If you’ve been on the hunt for an awesome new TV to watch Game of Thrones on, Vizio has a pretty killer offer on the 65-inch version of its top-of-the-line P-Series Quantum (PQ65-F1) model.

With discounts between $200 and $400 (depending on the retailer you purchase it through), you can save big on this fantastic TV, which we called the best buy of the year in our recent review.

You can get this flagship Vizio model for $1,600 at Walmart, Best Buy, or Target, and $1,400 at Costco and Sam’s Club. The deal runs from now until April 15.

Why are we such big fans of this Vizio model? Well, for starters, it offers many of the same features at Samsung and LG models that cost multiples the price, even at the standard $1,750 cost from the manufacturer.

With an ultra-thin bezel and die-cast aluminum legs, there are very few TVs that offer similar fit and finish for this amount of money. The same is also true of image quality. Full array local dimming means that you’ll enjoy extremely deep blacks and excellent contrast throughout the image, and quantum dot technology means you’re always getting hyper-accurate color.

Speaking of colors, it supports HDR 10, Dolby Vision, and HLG content, which means that you will get a vibrant picture when watching content from HD Blu-ray and compatible streaming services.

Using the TV is also super simple. It comes with Vizio’s SmartCast system onboard, offering viewers built-in Google Chromecast, as well as access to Google and Amazon Alexa voice assistants. Apple users will be happy to note that Siri is supposed to make her way to the TV before the end of the year. This support means that you can use a compatible smart speaker to change channels, adjust volume, change inputs, and even turn the TV on and off.

We were particularly impressed with the screen uniformity that we saw on the review unit we spent time with, which showed no signs of a dirty screen effect, and the local dimming offering a dynamic and high-contrast image.

If now isn’t the time you’re buying, be sure to check back for our best TV deals, as we’re always scouring the internet to save you a buck.

TCL’s giant 98-inch 4K TV hits CES — and stores — for under $8,000
TCL 2022 XL Collection 98-inch 4K QLED TV.

How much should you expect to pay for a staggeringly huge 98-inch TV? If you're Samsung, the answer is $15,000 for its 98-inch QN90A Neo QLED 4K. If you're Sony, the answer is $20,000 -- but hey, you're actually getting two more diagonal inches because that's how big its Bravia XR X92 is. On the other hand, if you're TCL, the answer is "under $8,000" for its 98-inch XL Series 98R754, a massive 4K QLED Google TV that you can pre-order on Amazon today, for $7,732.

The 98R754 joins TCL's existing XL Collection, a set of TVs that are all 80 inches or larger in size, including the company's flagship 85-inch 8K QLED X925pro (X9), which uses TCL's latest generation mini-LED backlight system, called OD Zero. Originally, TCL said that the X9 would be available for $10,000 before the end of 2021. But that clearly didn't happen, and no new timeframe has been announced.

Amazon-built Fire TV Omni and 4-Series 4K TVs now available, starting at $370
The Amazon Fire TV Omni Series with the Fire TV platform on the screen.

In September, Amazon revealed it was getting into the TV game by announcing two Amazon-branded TVs that are based on the company's Fire TV smart TV software. Now those TVs -- the Fire TV Omni Series and Fire TV 4-Series -- are available to buy, with prices starting at $370. As part of the release of these new models, Amazon has also said that both will receive Apple AirPlay 2 and Apple HomeKit support via an upcoming firmware update.

Amazon describes the Fire TV Omni as a "cinematic home theater experience," and while that may be a stretch for the smaller screen sizes of this TV, there's no doubt that the largest versions -- 65- and 75-inch sizes -- deserve that label, as they support Dolby Vision HDR in addition to the HDR10 and HLG formats supported by the smaller screen sizes.

You can now buy Walmart’s crazy-cheap 4K Android TV streamer
Walmart onn. Android TV streaming device

In May, eagle-eyed observers noticed that Walmart had added a $30, onn.-branded 4K Android TV-based streaming media device to its website, but at the time, there was no way to add it to your cart. Today, Walmart appears to be ready to sell these ultra-affordable streamers.

A few days after the 4K streaming device was spotted, another onn. streamer was discovered on Walmart: An Android TV streaming stick for $25. Spotted by 9to5google.com, the device is called the "onn. FHD Streaming Stick." However, as of June 10, the streaming stick is still listed as out of stock.
