Warner Brothers yesterday talked about the licensing of their Scooby Doo and Batman cartoon lines to companies like Oregon Scientific and VTech to produce educational toys. One of the more interesting toys as a result of this partnership is the Batman Power Wing Laptop, priced at $59.99 and available now.
The Batman Power Wing Laptop, which is for ages five and up, is produced by Oregon Scientific. It works by first touch the lid. This opens it, pops “bat wings†out of the sides and activates the toy computer as Batman’s voice says “Bat computer online! Enter a mission code!†The QWERTY keyboard and back-lit LCD combine to allow kids to interact with 25- learning adventures based on spelling, logic and memory and math skills.
Warner Brothers said the Batman Power Wing Laptop has been well received by toy experts, winning Dr. Toy’s 100 Best Vacation Products Award for 2005 as well as Creative Magazine’s Preferred Choice Award.
“Technology continues to make the integration of entertainment and education more and more seamless,†said Karen McTier, Executive Vice President of Domestic Licensing, in a statement. “When we pair characters like The Batman or Scooby-Doo with smart educational technology applications, we’re able to offer products that appeal to both kids and their parents. We are thrilled to be part of a line of products for the holidays that helps kids learn so effortlessly by making education fun.”
