If you’re buying anything this Black Friday, there’s a big chance you might want a drill/driver to go with it. A drill/driver is one part drill, one part (screw)driver and it can help out in many situations. For example, say you take part in one of these early Black Friday TV deals, you very well might want to wall mount it. Then, say you grab up an easy coffee maker from Keurig’s early Black Friday deals. An extra side table in your study would sure go nice with that and a drill/driver could very well make the table’s construction much easier.
Really, with so so many of your early Black Friday purchases, there might be a chance to pick up a cordless drill or driver and get to work. As such, we’ve compiled a list of the best cordless drill deals throughout Black Friday deals that are available now, so you can get a head start on prepping for the savings that are to come.
Skil Pwr Core 12 Drill/Driver — $50 $59 15% off
This compact brushless drill driver is hugely discounted and ready to go quickly — it can charge to 25% battery level in just a 5-minute restroom break. Skil may not have the wide selection of other tools to add to its battery system that other lines have, but it’s a fantastic price at $50 if you just want the drill/driver.
Milwaukee M12 Hammer Drill/Driver (Bare Tool) — $69 $94 26% off
If you already have some Milwaukee M12 batteries and a charger, this is the best way to get a drill that fits your kit. It’s tool only, which makes it highly affordable, but the 26% discount makes this drill only $69 while this deal lasts.
Milwaukee M18 Drill/Driver — $99 $199 50% off
This brushless M18 line drill is compact at only 5.7 inches in length, yet can still deliver 550 in-lbs of torque and has a top speed of 1,700 RPM. If you want a small but powerful drill and an in-roads to the extensive Milwaukee M18 tool collection, this is the deal for you at only $99.
DeWalt 20V Max Drill/Driver Kit — $99 $179 45% off
This is DeWalt’s premium entry-level drill/driver for a couple of reasons. For one, it is a great drill with a classic, balanced build. Next, it comes with two batteries and a charger, already starting you off strong towards a great DeWalt 20V collection or even just giving you an immediate backup battery should your first one die before you’re done with the work at hand. This is an easy pickup at $99.
Bosch 12V Max Flexiclick Drill/Driver — $129 $219 41% off
This kit brings with it a set of exchangeable drill heads to help you get into hard-to-reach places that other drills couldn’t handle. If you have a hobby that doesn’t hold your hand or use a drill enough to get yourself into a difficult spot, you owe it to yourself to get this for $129.
How to choose a drill on Black Friday
Black Friday starts with a ‘B,’ and so do these three factors that everybody should consider when they buy a drill:
Brand — While you might associate favoring brands with those among us stuck on Black Friday Apple deals because they’re so enmeshed in the system, power tools go the same way. Once you get one Bosch 12V, you’ll start to want to get everything Bosch 12V is you can. And that’s because of the…
Battery — Batteries are compatible with other products in the line of the battery. In other words, your Milwaukee M12 battery with be good with other Milwaukee M12 tools. (Be careful of the distinction between M12 and M18 for Milwaukee!) Some products come ‘bare tool’ or ‘tool only’ and you’ll need to use your existing batteries from other kits if you buy these deals.
Brushless — Brushless motors are preferred by serious tool users for their longevity and power. Be sure to get a tool with a brushless motor if you intend to fire up your drill on the regular, but know that you can probably get away a plain brushed motor if you just drive a few screws into wood during your annual furniture upgrades.
How we chose these Black Friday drill deals
We chose these Black Friday drill deals with the same reasoning that you’d use while buying them. We provided tools from the top brands, with and (sometimes) without batteries, at various prices that make sense for you.
Ultimately the cordless drill is at the heart of the battery-powered wireless power tool economy and is the place where a company tries to get you dedicated to its brand (see ‘Brand’ above). That’s a good thing for you if you just want a drill/driver, as you can get really good deals in this space.
But at the same time, if you want a more expansive power tool collection, go ahead and check out the rest of the line. Its one of the big reasons you shouldn’t just pick the cheapest tool available, even if you just do casual drilling.
