It’s toy electronics mania today over at Hasbro’s Tiger Electronics division as they announced a slew of new products aimed at the tween market. These toys include a portable multi-media system, digital video camera, projector, and two way radio.
The Vugo portable player ($119.99), Hasbro said, comes standard with 128MB of memory, which is enough to hold sixty minutes of video, six hours of music or over 1,200 digital photos. The memory can be expanded via a SD memory card. The Vcam Now ($79.99), meanwhile, is a digital video camera allows tweens to record a movie or take still pictures.
Other products in Hasbro’s in time for Christmas line up include the Zoombox ($299) portable entertainment projector, which plays DVDs, CDs and connects to gaming systems, the I-Dog ($29.99) Interactive Music Companion, which is shaped as a palm sized dog that dances to or broadcasts music, the VideoNow XP ($59.99) portable video and gaming player and the already available ChatNow ($74.99) personal communicator radio, which allows radio talk, text messaging and digital photography.
"When it comes to entertainment, the tween audience wants to be just like their older siblings and friends, and Tiger has the ability to bring to market exactly what kids want – really cool, affordable, high tech products," said Sharon John, general manager, Tiger Electronics. "As we approach the holiday season, Tiger is launching some incredibly innovative products that will provide tweens with hours of entertainment in the home and on the go."
