iLuv has certainly been churning out a number of variations on speaker systems for iPod and PCs, but the company’s just-announced iHD171 (PDF) adds a couple unique features to the mix: HD radio reception and support for iTunes Tagging, so—with just one touch—users can safe information about a song they like on the radio to their iPhone or iPod for later purchase via iTunes.
"iLuv is delighted to unveil their third HD radio alarm clock product to HD aficionados desiring a little something more in their bedside tunes and sound quality" said iLuv VP of sales Robert Caputo, in a statement. "We have created this product to meet the latest demands of HD users."
The iHD171 is compatible with the iPhone and dock-compatible iPod and offers dual alarms, an LCD display (with station, song, and artist info), the aforementioned HD Radio receiver plus standard AM/FM capability, and a video output that lets users push video from their iPod to a connected television or compatible display. The unit also features an aux input, EQ presets, a mute function, and 30 programmable station presets. The iHD171 uses jAura acoustic speaker technology, and features two 4 Watt speakers. Of course, the unit will charge an iPhone or iPod while docked, and it’ll even sync it’s internal clock to an iPhone or iPod, just to make sure folks get u on time.
iLuv will be showing the iHD171 at this year’s CES show, and expects to offer it for sale in January for a suggested price of $199.99.
