KitchenAid’s craft coffee machines perk up your countertop

If you love coffee as much as we do, you’ll be stoked to hear that KitchenAid has just released a quartet of new coffeemakers aimed at the craft brewing crowd. The new line includes a coffee press, a siphon brewer, a pour-over machine, and an espresso maker — so no matter what style brew you dig, they’ve got you covered.

The most affordable option of the bunch is KitchenAid’s Precision Press: a souped-up version of the traditional French press. Under the hood it’s equipped with an integrated timer and weight scale, which allows you to get your measurements and steep times absolutely perfect.

If French press isn’t your cup of tea, there’s also a pour over machine in the lineup. The KitchenAid Pour Over Coffee Brewer emulates the technique of an expert barista with a pre-infusion stage that pours just enough water to wet the coffee grounds, then pauses long enough to allow the fresh coffee to “exhale” before the final brewing stage. Apparently this technique creates the “bloom” that marks a great cup of pour over coffee.

Venturing even further into the realm of coffee snobbery, KitchenAid has also released a Siphon Brewer. In the company’s own words, this brewer “reimagines the theater of classic vacuum pot brewers with modern engineering, simple setup and fewer parts. It combines the richness of total-immersion brewing methods with the clean flavor profile of filter-brewed coffee, all without the need for a disposable filter.”

And last but certainly not least, there’s the KitchenAid Pro Line Series Espresso Maker. This thing is a beast. Espresso, lattes, cappuccinos; you name it and this machine will make it. It even comes with an additional frothing pitcher specifically designed to create latte art.

Look out Keurig — the bar has just been raised.
