The powerful News Corp., owned by Rupert Murdoch, has said that it will keep its television shows on iTunes.
There has been speculation that it would follow the lead of NBC Universal and pull its shows in the light of the pair forming the joint video download venture Hulu. But Peter Chermin, President and COO of News Corp. scotched that idea, although he did echo the media industry’s calls for Apple to have more flexible pricing.
"Right now we have a perfectly good relationship with Apple," Chernin told Reuters. "But let me say this, we’re the ones who should determine what the fair price for our product is, not Apple."
The decision means that iTunes will continue to sell a range of popular shows from the Fox Network.
