Roborock S8 Pro Ultra vs. Ecovacs Deebot T10 Omni: which is the better robot vacuum?

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebot T10 Omni are two of the newest (and most expensive) robot vacuums to hit the market. They both come from companies with reputations for making powerful, high-end products — but is one more fit for your home than the other?

Here’s a comparison of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebot T10 Omni to help you decide which one to bring into your house.

Pricing and availability

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra costs $1,600 and is available in either white or black. The Ecovacs Deebot T10 Omni costs $1,200 and is available in white. They can be found directly through their associated storefronts and many third-party retailers. Both models come with a docking station that includes three reservoirs (clean water, dirty water, and dust), and they’re both well-designed and easy on the eyes.

When it comes to pure power, the S8 Pro Ultra comes out ahead of the Deebot T10 Omni. Roborock’s new flagship maxes out with an impressive 6,000 Pa of suction, while the T10 Omni hits 5,000 Pa of suction.

Regardless of which you choose, however, you’ll be treated to a premium cleaning experience that allows you to go weeks without having to worry about emptying a dustbin. Ecovacs says its dock holds up to 60 days’ worth of dust, while Roborock boasts up to seven weeks without needing to change a dust bag.

At-home testing proved that both offer a remarkable vacuuming experience and the ability to remove fur, dust, and other debris that was embedded deep into carpet. Both also managed to clean corners admirably and avoid obstacles without issues.

Mopping

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra uses a single mopping pad to tackle your hardwood and tile floors. And thanks to its versatile dock, it can both clean and dry its mop when its task is done.

The Deebot T10 Omni can also clean and dry its mop, although it uses two spinning mopheads to tackle deep stains. Both robots do a great job of cleaning floors, but the Ecovacs product might be a better choice if your home is composed solely of hardwood, tile, laminate, or other smooth flooring solutions.

However, it’s worth mentioning that the Deebot T10 Omni cannot lift its mopheads and it won’t travel on carpet while its mopheads are installed. This means you might have to manually pick it up and move it depending on where your dock is positioned — and you’ll have to manually remove the mopheads if you want it to travel on carpet.

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, meanwhile, can retract its mop 5mm, allowing it to travel on carpet without getting it wet (unless, of course, you have extra plush carpets).

Additional features

Roborock S8 Pro Ultra offers support for Amazon Alexa and Google Home. The Ecovacs Deebot T10 Omni works with both smart home platforms as well, but it also features an onboard YIKO voice assistant for quick commands.

Both are remarkably quiet while operating, offer top-of-the-line navigation software, and come with a smartphone app that lets you schedule cleanings, change your settings, or perform a customized cleaning.

Is the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra worth the extra cost?

If your floor consists of entirely carpet or tile, then you can probably get away with the more affordable Ecovacs Deebot T10 Omni. It performs incredibly well whether it’s vacuuming or mopping, giving you a hands-free clean that can’t be beaten by most other robots.

However, if your home consists of both carpet and tile, the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is worth the extra expense. Since the Deebot T10 Omni won’t travel on carpet with its mop installed, you’ll need to manually intervene if you want to perform a full cleaning. With Roborock, you can simply let it go about its task without having to think twice.

Anyone looking for a robot vacuum that’s truly automated will find that in the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra. The Deebot T10 Omni comes close to achieving that — and it largely does if you have a single floor type — but there’s no doubt the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the better option for most homes (despite its hefty price tag).
