Solo Announces New Bag Collection

Solo, a maker of bags for technology hounds, has unveiled a new line of bags which sport "soft, distressed Colombian leather and elegant detailing." The new Solo Vintage Collection consists of five pieces of luggage and should be available this summer.

What follows is a description of each bag as provided by the manufacturuer in a press release:

Satchel – This supple and spacious leather satchel has a padded compartment with Velcro-closure that holds a 15.4" laptop.   Strong but soft rope-filled straps stay in place when carried on the shoulder, and antique brass gusset buckles and leather tassel details add to the vintage look. Not only chic, but convenient, the Satchel features a Ride Along Pocket(tm), an unzipping back pocket that allows the bag to slip over the handle of any rolling case for easy transport. A front zippered organizer pocket can be used alone or has been conveniently designed to be the perfect fit for the matching Solo Wristlet. A long strategically placed zipper pull offers quick and easy access.  The Satchel is $119.99 MSRP.

Bucket Tote – This roomy vertical leather tote has a padded laptop compartment for a 15.4" laptop, and enough space for business materials, pens, and even a pair of shoes. The top of the bag is open, with the computer compartment safely concealed with a protective Velcro flap, and a snap-close security strap.  The Bucket Tote also features a Ride Along Pocket for consolidated transport – a unique asset for laptop cases that can be found on many Solo bags. The front organizer pocket is designed to hold the matching Wristlet. The Bucket Tote is $99.99 MSRP.

Carry All -This soft and supple leather bag offers generous space to Carry it ALL and has a padded laptop section with Velco closure to safely hold a 15.4" laptop.  A top-zipper closure conceals and secures all other materials.  The Carry All also features the Ride Along Pocket for easy transport. The Carry All is $89.99 MSRP.

Slim Brief – The Slim Brief is a simple and stylish laptop case with an elegant silhouette for those who don’t have a lot to carry but want to stay connected. The brief securely protects a 15.4" laptop and offers a wide-zipper opening. The shoulder strap is removable, and a Ride Along pocket allows the case to be slipped over the handle of any rolling case while traveling.  The Slim Brief is $69.99 MSRP.

Wristlet – The slim Colombian leather Wristlet is designed to fit and match perfectly with many of the products within the SOLO Vintage Collection.  Keep all credit cards, identification, cash, and small personal essentials at hand or wrist length with the attached leather strap.  This chic leather dual-compartment wallet pairs flawlessly with your Solo Vintage bag, and your smart and sophisticated vintage look. The Wristlet is $19.99 MSRP.

Govee jumps on the Matter bandwagon with new LED Strip Light
The Govee Light Strip installed on a shelf.

Govee is responsible for many of the best smart lights on the market, and today the company revealed its first-ever Matter product -- the LED Strip Light M1. Now available for $60, the LED Strip Light M1 is hoping to bring a bit more versatility to Matter, which continues to gain momentum throughout 2023.

Apple HomeKit users should be particularly excited about the LED Strip Light M1, as its support for Matter also means it’ll play nicely with Apple’s smart home ecosystem (which is another first for Govee). The lights are just as robust as you’d expect for a product from Govee, offering 60 light beads per meter, up to 50 adjustable points per meter, more than 64 Light Modes to customize their performance, and the ability to purchase an extension kit if you need more than the included 6.54 feet.

Ring’s new indoor camera features a built-in privacy shutter
The Ring Indoor Cam mounted on a wall.

Ring is launching a new Ring Indoor Cam on May 24, and it’ll be the first indoor camera in its catalog to include a privacy shutter. The shutter allows you to turn off both the camera and microphone, and it can be easily removed if you don’t need the additional privacy features.

The shutter can’t, however, be remotely activated. This means you’ll need to manually swivel the privacy shutter in front of the camera when you want to use it, then swivel it out of the way when you want to start recording again. Still, as the first Ring Indoor Cam to offer the feature, it’s definitely a step in the right direction.
