Zipping down the road on your motorcycle, a heads up display mounted into your full-faceed helmet alerts you of an upcoming speed trap. You slow down and go past without a ticket, feeling teched out thanks to the SportVue MC2 heads up display unit from Motion Research.
The SportVue MC2, according to a press release, is a display device which mounts onto full-face motorcycle helmets and gives riders instant access to data like speed, rpm and gear. The latest addition is the radar detector. The information, except for the audio sounds of the detector which are heard through a separate connector, is beamed wirelessly to the display unit and viewed through a LED read out.
“Using radar detectors on a motorcycle is tough because of increased road, traffic and wind noise,” said SportVue creator and Indy 500 veteran racer Dominic Dobson. “And it’s hard to mount a detector so the rider can see the display. SportVue MC2 is the answer.”
