Acer has a brand new 7-inch tablet that will be heading to market soon–just not in the U.S. The Iconia B1-A71 is not only proof that hardware developers shouldn’t name devices, but also will add another option to the tablet market’s budget price range.
Priced at under $150, the Acer Iconia B1-A71 won’t overwhelm with its specs but it will likely get the job done. The new 7-inch option and its 1,024×600 screen will ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as its operating system. A dual-core, 1.2GHz processor will power the device, along with 512MB of RAM. Internal storage comes in at 8GB, which can be expanded with micro SD card slot and micro USB port. Finally, a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera rounds out the Iconia B1-A71 features list.
While most of the announcements coming out of CES 2013 aim to wow and impress, the Acer Iconia B1-A71 probably won’t turn too many heads and definitely isn’t a device folks are rushing to try. But when all of the devices shown at CES hit store shelves and price tags are attached, the Iconia B1-A71 will probably look a little more appealing. If only Acer could have made the name even less convenient.
