As far as we know at this point, the phone doesn’t boast overly amazing specs, but it seems to have pretty decent ones for its sub-$200 price tag. It’s not a flagship device, but it’s not trying to be — it’s just a great midrange smartphone.
“Our aim was to develop a high-end product without a high-end price, and we’ve done just that,” said Nicolas Zibell, general manager of International Business and president of TCL, Alcatel’s parent company. “Shine Lite has flagship product design and relevant features, tailored to meet the needs of our Gen Z consumers who look for a combination of style and substance, without a hefty price tag.”
As mentioned, some of the details about the phone are yet to be revealed, but we do know it has a 13MP rear-facing camera and a 5MP front-facing camera, with a flash for the selfie lovers out there. While the phone is decidedly midrange, it’s nice to see that it still has a fingerprint scanner. It also has a 5-inch display that Alcatel promises will offer “vivid, true color photos and graphics,” but the HD resolution isn’t really anything to write home about. That display is covered by 2.5D glass on both sides, with a metal frame on the side.
As far as colors, the device is available in a range of them — pure white, prime black, satin gold, gold duo, and silver duo. There’s no word on availability just yet, but the device should be out within the next few months or so. It will be available for $200.
