Amazon wants everyone to know that not only does its Appstore have lots of apps, it also offers great deals on the more expensive ones now and then. On Friday, Amazon debuted a new promotion, offering 31 higher-priced Android apps for free from its Appstore.
Any Kindle Fire tablet user can easily download the free apps to their device directly through the Appstore. Those who own standard Android devices can also get the apps, but the process of downloading them from Amazon’s store is a bit more problematic. First, they’ll have to check and see if their device grants them access to the online retailer’s Appstore, then they can follow these handy instructions from Amazon (click here). Lucky Fire OS users don’t have to suffer through this process.
The promotion offers popular paid apps such as Plex, Notepad+, Accuweather Platinum, Splashtop Remote Desktop HD, OfficeSuite Professional 7, and more. It also includes several popular mobile games such as Sonic the Hedgehog 2, 3D RPG Ravensword: Shadowlands, Dungeon Village, and more. If you download all the apps, you’ll have saved more than $100 on these rather expensive apps. You can check out the full list here.
Amazon’s app deal is applicable in the United States and the U.K. through Saturday. All in all, it’s a good way for Amazon is show off its Appstore and perhaps entice more people to preorder the upcoming Fire Phone that it released last week. Amazon wants everyone to know that it may not have all the apps in its Appstore, but it sure does give you good deals on those it does offer.
