Apple releases poetic iPad Air ad, asks ‘What will your verse be?’

apple releases poetic ipad air ad

While for many people life is about getting the kids to school on time or trying to work out why, as we get older, hair moves from growing on one’s head to growing out of nearby orifices instead, for Apple’s marketing team it’s a whole lot more profound. And when you’re trying to sell a product like the iPad, that’s kinda understandable.

Aired for the first time Sunday during the NFL playoff game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Carolina Panthers, the ad (below) is a continuation of its recently launched Life on iPad campaign. The 90-second slot features Robin Williams repeating some dialog from his 1989 movie Dead Poets Society where he waxes lyrical to a bunch of impressionable students – borrowing a few lines from Walt Whitman’s O Me! O Life! in the process – and finishes up by asking, “What will your verse be?”

Now, with this kind of weighty talk going on, the accompanying visuals aren’t going to show little Johnny playing Angry Birds or a single finger tapping out Chopsticks, of course not. Apple’s ad instead presents us with a series of awesome sights and big happenings, and as you might expect, the iPad Air is never far away – in fact, the Cupertino company wants us to know how its tablet can help us achieve great things, with the Air popping up repeatedly throughout the commercial.

The ad, titled Your Verse Anthem, shows the Air out in the field, with everyone from artists to educators, and workers to sports professionals, all making use of the tablet in a myriad of ways.

So, what do you make of Apple’s attempt to hook the iPad into the world and all its wonder – over-the-top trash or a stroke of marketing genius?

This $199 refurbished iPad deal is $120 cheaper than a new one
iPad 7th generation hands-on holding in horizontal mode

If you don't mind purchasing refurbished stock that looks like new, Walmart has one of the best iPad deals today. Right now, you can buy the Apple iPad 7th generation for only $200 saving you $49 off the usual price. Of course, it's a refurbished unit but Walmart promises that it works and looks like new so you're not missing out on anything other than spending more cash. It's an older model but thanks to Apple supporting iPads for a long time, you'll be fine. Here's a deeper look at what to expect from your new acquisition.

Why you should buy the Apple iPad
The Apple iPad 7th generation was launched back in 2019. Four years old, it's still reasonably powerful if you don't mind a few concessions in exchange for owning an iPadOS-based tablet. It's powered by the A10 Fusion processor that was seen in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. It can still handle plenty of multitasking so there are no concerns there, although we'd recommend this as a tablet for someone who doesn't mind being a few steps behind technologically. After all, this isn't one of the best tablets anymore, but it's ideal for entertainment purposes.

Apple iPad (2021) -- $250, was $329

The 2021 Apple iPad may offer few discernible upgrades over the previous two generations but that's because it follows an 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' mentality. It offers everything you could need from a simple tablet and a few extras that make it well worth the price. On the surface is its delightful 10.2-inch Retina display with True Tone support. That means that imagery looks great at all times with the iPad being the ideal device for streaming content or browsing the internet in style. Its stereo speakers certainly help ensure that this is a great option if you love to catch up with shows on Netflix while on the move.
