Case-Mate Zebrawood Case ($80)
It’s not cheap, but this premium case from Case-Mate really evokes memories of vintage automobile interiors. The combination of brushed aluminum and textured hardwood is really striking. The touchscreen is fully accessible, there are cutouts for all of the ports and functions, and there’s an absorbent patterned inlay to reduce the chance of damage from drops or bumps. It’s a good combination of style and practicality.
Incipio DualPro Shine Case ($35)
You can get an attractive slim form factor case from Incipio called the Feather Shine case, but if you’re really looking for solid protection, then the DualPro is the case for you. The shock absorbing inner layer is surrounded by aluminum. The two-tone silver and black is stylish and business-like. You’ll find the case doesn’t hinder smartphone operation, so there’s no need to take it off. This is tidy, professional protection at a reasonable price.
Amzer Shellster ($20)
So many BlackBerry cases and accessories stick to the business profile that we’ll forgive you for wanting something in hot pink. This is a solid polycarbonate case with a rubberized finish and all of the usual precision cutouts, but it’s backed up by a holster. You can slide the Z10 into the holster face in to fully protect the phone, or you can slide it in the other way and use the belt clip as a kickstand for watching movies. Don’t worry, the hot pink is not compulsory; it comes in a few different color combos.
Transform Hard Shell Case ($35)
Official cases are always a bit hit and miss, but this Transform case from BlackBerry stands out with its unusual design. It’s precision cut, as you’d expect, so there’s no problem using the phone in the case. It also has a hinged back that allows you to flip it open and use it as a kickstand. It’s a nice, lightweight, and thin option, and it comes in a range of colors.
PowerSkin for BlackBerry Z10 ($80)
Battery juice running out is still the biggest bugbear for most smartphone users and the BlackBerry Z10 is no exception. This silicone case is shock proof and dust resistant, but the real unique selling point is the inclusion of a built-in 1,500mAh battery. You can turn it on to charge your BlackBerry Z10 whenever you need a boost. There’s a row of LEDs to keep you apprised of the battery level and the charging cable is provided. PowerSkin also promise that your NFC will still work with the case on.
Piel Frama iMagnum Case ($110)
For a stylish, genuine leather case, you should check out Piel Frama’s wares. This iMagnum example has a handmade, high quality, leather exterior with a thermoplastic polymer frame inside to hold your Z10 and protect it. It flips open for easy access and features a magnetic closure system. There’s also an optional, fully rotatable belt clip.
OtterBox Defender Series Case ($50)
Ordinarily we have no qualms about recommending OtterBox cases because they offer great protection, but this Z10 case does have a major flaw that can’t be ignored. The frame is too thick and it encroaches on the touchscreen, which can impact on comfortable operation of your Z10. There’s no question that the multi-layered design, complete with screen protector, will keep your device safe from drops and knocks, but the bulky design should give you some pause for thought.
Scosche Soundkase Sport Armband Case ($25)
You can take your Z10 with you when you go for a workout, a jog, or cycling, with this armband. It’s crafted from lightweight, adjustable neoprene and there’s plastic screen protection. You’ll find openings for earphones, so you can listen to music while you exercise. There are also reflective accents to keep you safe if you’re out on the road, and a small pocket for storing keys or other items.
Ballistic Shell Gel SG Series Case ($35)
Three layers of protection without adding too much bulk makes this Ballistic case worth checking out. There’s extra thickness at the corners to keep your Z10 safe if you drop it, and the outer surface provides great grip whether you’re holding it or laying it down somewhere. The combination of TPU, polycarbonate, and silicone is tough to beat and the design comes in classic black or two-tone charcoal and white.
Seidio Surface Case for Z10 ($30)
Sleek and easy to fit, this two piece hard case slides onto your Z10. It is made of durable plastic, but the soft touch coating makes it pleasant to hold. The bottom section sports a kickstand, so you can set your Z10 at an angle and the case has all the usual cutouts. It’s a good value and it comes in black, red, blue, and purple. You can splash out a little extra if you want the compatible holster.
