Keep your tablet stylish and secure with one of the best iPad Pro 10.5 cases

best iPad Pro 10.5 cases - Logitech Slim Combo Keyboard Case for iPad Pro 10.5
Logitech
With a larger, higher-quality screen, a lightning-fast A10X processor, and a stunning camera, the 10.5-inch iPad Pro is more than just a suitable replacement for the 9.7-inch iPad Pro. As you’ll find in our iPad Pro 10.5 review — bigger is definitely better. The two may look similar at first glance, and while many iPad Pro accessories will serve both tablets, they’re definitely not compatible with the same set of cases. Since you likely don’t want to risk breaking the display on your new tablet, snagging yourself a good case is essential. Luckily, the best iPad Pro 10.5 cases offer enhanced functionality, style, and solid drop protection. Check them out below.

STM Dux Plus Ultra Case ($60)

STM Dux Ultra Case

This is a really practical case featuring a thoughtful, protective design. The shell is reinforced for drop protection up to 4 feet, and there’s a durable, polyurethane front cover to protect the screen. The cover also folds back to act as a stand, and it has a magnetic closure so it won’t flap open uninvited. You’ll find cut-outs for all the iPad’s features and functions, including the speakers. There’s a transparent back section, so you can show off the iPad design or customize with a picture of your choice. There’s also a clever nook inside to secure your Apple Pencil firmly in place.

Tech21 Impact Clear Case ($70)

Tech21 Impact Clear case

If you love the design of your iPad Pro 10.5 and don’t like the idea of covering it up, then this case from Tech21 should suit you perfectly. It’s a very svelte, crystal clear case with generous openings for unfettered access to the buttons, ports, speakers, and camera. Special internal ribbing around the frame provides some protection from falls and bumps, though this isn’t a really rugged case. It is fully compatible with Apple’s Smart Cover, and it has a nifty holder for your Apple Pencil.

Incipio Design Series Case ($45)

These chic, eye-catching cases from Incipio are crafted from hard, scratch-resistant, translucent plastic with stylish metallic foil designs inside that really catch the light. The flexible front cover can fold back to act as a stand, and there are accurate openings for all the ports, speakers, and the camera. You’ll also find a raised lip around the screen and soft button covers. Your choice of designs includes spring flowers with a light pink cover, silver sparkles with a gray cover, or cool blossoms with a brighter pink cover.

UAG Metropolis Case ($60)

UAG Metropolis Case

With a solid industrial aesthetic, this iPad Pro 10.5 case is every bit as tough as it looks. You’ll find rugged drop protection that meets military drop test standards and a textured exterior that really enhances your grip. Reinforced corners and an impact absorbing core keep your iPad safe from harm. You can also fold the cover back to act as a stand and this case is compatible with Apple’s Smart Keyboard. To round things off, there’s a handy Apple Pencil holder. You can get this case in black, magma red, or cobalt blue.

Case Made Leather Case ($65)

Case Made Leather Case

The leather look is classic and Casemade’s iPad Pro 10.5 case is made from Italian cowhide neatly stitched into a protective cover with a slim, black plastic shell inside. Since the exterior cover provides 360-degree protection, you’ll find the shell that holds your iPad is minimal, with large openings for easy access to ports, buttons, and other features. The cover feels and looks luxurious — we prefer the tan, but you can also get it in black with red stitching. It also supports the automatic sleep/wake functionality and there’s a special slot so you can fold the cover to use it as a stand.

Targus VersaVu Signature Series Case ($60)

If you want to be able to rotate your iPad and prop it up in either landscape or portrait view, then you need to check out this Targus case. It’s the only iPad Pro 10.5 case with 360-degree rotation. It also offers drop protection up to 4 feet, has an Apple Pencil holder on the back, and sports a secure latch. The protective shell is quite thick, but it cleverly redirects sound to the front, and has accurate cut-outs for everything else. The blend of exterior materials with brushed metal accents is quite stylish, but Targus also offers a plainer classic case in red, black, and purple. The classic is $10 cheaper, but it has a different catch and lacks the stylus holder.

Logitech Slim Combo Keyboard Case ($130)

This combo case includes a protective shell and cover, along with a detachable keyboard. The keyboard sports well-spaced, backlit keys, and attaches via Apple’s Smart Connector for easy pairing and charging. The outer cover is durable and easy to clean, and your iPad will automatically wake when you open it. You can also use it to prop up your iPad at four different angles, some of which are better for typing, reading, and video chatting. There’s even a convenient holder for your Apple Pencil. This case comes in black or blue.

Speck Balance Folio Case ($40)

If you primarily want drop and scratch protection, then Speck’s folio case is the ideal solution. The durable case can withstand falls from up to four feet, has a bezel that extends around the screen, and sports a soft interior lining that safeguards your iPad Pro 10.5. If you open the cover, which locks securely with a special clasp, you’ll find it supports multiple angles for typing or reading comfortably. It comes in a range of different colors, too, including purple, gray, red, blue, and black.

Pad & Quill Oxford Case ($130)

Pad & Quill Oxford Case

You’ll fall in love with this full-grain leather case from Pad & Quill. It showcases a classic folio design that relies upon adhesive to fix your iPad Pro 10.5 in place. Don’t worry, though — the latter component is removable, residue-free, and can be reattached. The cover also supports the automatic sleep-wake function and includes a handy pocket for stowing loose documents. It also allows you to prop up your iPad in landscape mode when watching movies. The finish comes in either a chestnut or a lighter, whisky variety.

Supcase Unicorn Beetle Case ($25)

This case promises protection from impact shock with a dual-layer design that wraps flexible TPU in a hard, polycarbonate shell. The front cover has a frame that sports a built-in screen protector, and there are port covers to keep dust and debris out. You’ll also find accurate cut-outs for your tablet’s Touch ID sensor camera, and speakers, as well as a handy kickstand that makes it easy to prop up your iPad in landscape mode. You’ll get good protection with this case, but it does impact usability and clashes with the iPad’s style.
