Here’s an interesting Kickstarter campaign. It’s for a product called the Bpen, which aims to put a tablet or smartphone stand in everyone’s pocket by making it useful when you’re not wanting to prop up your device. The Bpen is both a regular pen and a stylus designed for the touchscreen. An extendable clip fits into the headphone socket on your device, allowing the pen to fix the screen at a comfortable viewing angle.
You can also buy it with a small stand, so it can be used on a car dashboard, or buy a mini version without the ability to write anything, which is attached to a keychain. They’re both made from aluminum, and can be used in portrait and landscape orientation. The regular Bpen starts at $25 for two pens, while the Bpen Mini is $15 for two, with shipping expected to begin in March.
It’s certainly good value provided you have a use for it, but the one problem we can see is with the Bpen fitted, there doesn’t seem to be a way to use the headphone socket for headphones. Could be a drawback for watching video on public. If you want to support the Bpen on Kickstarter, you’ll find the campaign here, where it has a modest $5,000 goal and 38 days to run.
