CES 2006 Profile: Sony Ericsson

Mobile phone company Sony Ericsson unveiled several new products at the 2006 CES show in Las Vegas last week. These products include a new Walkman phone as well as two Walkman phone related accessories.

Sony Ericsson’s new Walkman phone is the W810. This black with orange trim phone will start shipping globally this spring. Features of the W810 include Quad-band EDGE capability, a 512MB removable Memory Stick Pro Duo card, support and playback of MP3 and AAC music files, USB 2.0 support, a dedicated Walkman button to pull up the on screen music menu, a 1.9â€ TFT display, a 2 megapixel auto focus camera with photo light and integrated Bluetooth wireless functionality.

On the accessories side, Sony Ericsson was showing off the new MPS-60 and MDS-60. The MPS-60 is portable speakers which are small and designed to have a music mobile phone plugged into them, playing music from the phone while at the same time drawing power as well. The MDS-60 is more of a music stand meanwhile. It has a protective folding design and is built for more stationary use. It runs off of an AC adapter or batteries.

Tablets at CES 2023 are beating the iPad in big and unexpected ways

CES 2023 happened this week, and it’s usually when we see a bunch of interesting new tech — like Withing’s new health tracker that you pee on, and L’Oreal’s eyebrow printer for your face. Tablets aren’t a huge part of the show, but we still got some interesting options coming from TCL and Lenovo later this year.

Though Apple’s iPad is still the dominant choice in the tablet market, some of the coolest tablets at CES 2023 offer something that Apple doesn’t yet make itself. And that got me thinking; perhaps it’s time for Apple to consider branching out with its tablet lineup to do something new.

CES 2023: Citizen’s newest smartwatch puts part of NASA on your wrist

The latest smartwatches from Citizen feature an app that utilizes research into alertness and fatigue pulled from NASA plus A.I. models created by IBM Watson Studio to help you better understand the way your body performs each day. The app is called YouQ, and rather than only looking back at how you’ve performed, it also looks ahead.

By tracking your sleep and through custom gamified tests, the YouQ app will work out daily “Power Fixes,” which are recommended actions designed to improve alertness and minimize fatigue. The more you use the YouQ app and its actions, the more effectively the app can make recommendations about your day’s ideal health activities. There are two new second-generation smartwatch models from Citizen, the CZ Smart Sport and the CZ Smart Casual, with the names giving away the basic style of each one.
