FOX Sports Launches Improved Mobile Service

Mobile entertainment publisher Glu Mobile and FOX Sports Interactive yesterday took the wraps off of an improved version of the latter’s mobile sports programming offering. Known as FOX Sports Mobile Pro, the service is now available to consumers on major wireless carriers nationwide.

FOX Sports Mobile Pro, said the two organizations, provides in-depth, up to the minute coverage of all major college and professional sports. New features in the improved version of FOX Sports’ mobile offering include Game Trax (play-by-play commentary, game stats, analysis and depth charts of live sporting events), audio highlights, color photos, game graphics, enhanced team pages, deeper stats, full season schedules and college polls.

“FOX Sports Mobile Pro is a natural extension of the FOX Sports brand,” said Ed Bunnell, Vice President, Product and Programming, FOX Sports Interactive, in a statement. “We are committed to delivering deep sports experiences to consumers whether they’re watching TV, surfing the Web or on their mobile phone.”

T-Mobile’s 5G home internet service is now finally official

T-Mobile is finally -- and officially -- getting into the home internet game. The company has been testing its home internet service for a while now, but now it's moving out of that phase and launching its service to the public.

According to T-Mobile, 30 million households are now eligible to sign up for the service, and 10 million of those households are in rural areas. Pricing on the service sits at $60 with auto pay or $65 without. There are no fees for equipment rental, and T-Mobile says that customers will install their own equipment -- which should be easier than cable-based internet services.

T-Mobile’s Home Office Internet service brings 5G to businesses nationwide

T-Mobile is getting more serious about internet services beyond phones -- and it's all on the back of its nationwide 5G network. The company has announced a new wireless Home Office Internet service, and it's built specifically to "give remote employees the bandwidth and security needed to get work done."

The new product is one of three services that are bundled into what T-Mobile calls "T-Mobile WFX" and is for enterprise customers -- so it's not necessarily for those looking for a replacement to their wired home internet service just yet. People who sign up for the service will get a router that they can install themselves and that basically converts 5G or LTE signals to Wi-Fi for the surrounding area.

Samsung’s new Exynos 2100 5G mobile chip launched ahead of the Galaxy S21

Samsung has announced its latest Exynos mobile processor, the Exynos 2100 5G, which it calls its most advanced mobile processor yet. Although it made no announcements regarding which devices it will arrive in, it’s almost certain the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy S21 will be powered by the chip. At least, the S21 phones released outside the U.S. probably will be, while those sold inside the U.S. may use the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor.

The Exynos 2100 5G is still a very important product for Samsung, not least because it’s the company’s first flagship chip built using a 5nm processor, which it says provides a 10% performance increase and a 20% decrease in power consumption, compared to a 7nm chip like the Exynos 990. The 2.9GHz Central Processing Unit (CPU) has eight cores in total, consisting of three Arm Cortex A78, four Arm Cortex A5, and a custom Arm Cortex X1. Combined with improvements made to the cache, scheduler, and voltage control, all this adds up to a 30% overall performance improvement.
