If you can’t wait to become fully integrated into Amazon’s mobile ecosystem, then the first deal will be exactly what you’re after. The Kindle Fire HDX 7-inch tablet costs $50 when it’s purchased alongside an Amazon Fire Phone on a two-year contract. Coincidentally, the Fire Phone’s price was recently discounted in price from an outrageous $200, to a bargain, basement price of $1. It’s absolutely not a blatant deal sweetener to try and shift the unwanted Fire Phone — no, not at all.
Alternatively, if you’d rather avoid the Fire Phone and just take the tablet, AT&T will sell it to you for $100, provided you sign a two-year airtime agreement. Finally, you can take it away for free and then pay AT&T $10 per month. There’s no contract with this option, but you will pay for any network usage separately.
Amazon’s Fire HDX tablet has a 7-inch display with a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution, and is powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core processor. It runs Amazon’s own version of Android and comes with the Mayday helpline, plus access to all Amazon’s content — from books and films, to apps and magazines. At the time of writing, the 7-inch HDX tablet cost $180 directly through Amazon, with free shipping.
AT&T will have the Kindle Fire HDX 7-inch in stock from October 24 and the deals will be available both in stores and online.
