Samsung’s latest tablets, the Galaxy Tab S range, are about to hit AT&T stores, and the network has announced a pre-order campaign starting September 17. As an incentive to pick up one of the high-res slates, a 50-percent discount is being offered to those who buy one on Samsung’s matching Tab S keyboard.
AT&T will stock the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and the Galaxy Tab S 10.5, and buyers have the choice of three purchasing options – monthly, with a two-year contract, or outright. The smaller tablet has been priced at $530 without a contract, or $430 with one. Alternatively, you could take it away and pay $26.50 per month for twenty months, if you’d prefer.
The larger Galaxy Tab 10.5 costs $630 if you don’t want to sign-up with AT&T, or $530 if you’re happy with a two-year contract. The monthly payment option is slightly more than the Galaxy Tab 8.4, and costs $31.50 each month for twenty months. Remember, unless you buy the tablet without a contract, you’ll have to pay monthly network charges too. For example, a 3GB AT&T DataConnect plan for tablets costs $30 per month.
Samsung launched its new Galaxy Tab S models at the beginning of summer, and they stand out thanks to the use of Super AMOLED screens, providing sharp, bright, and colorful images. Both the 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch tablets have 2560 x 1600 pixel resolutions, and are powered by Samsung’s own Exynos octa-core processors. A fingerprint scanner, a pair of cameras – 8 megapixels on the rear, and 2.1 megapixels on the front – plus a super slim chassis completes the spec list.
If you pre-order online, AT&T will start shipping your tablet on September 23, but you’ll have to wait until September 26 before getting your hands on one in stores. The keyboard discount promotion is only while stocks last.
