There’s another Honor smartphone, and it’s named the Honor 6X, as was anticipated by a filing on the Chinese TENAA regulatory board website.

Launch and release date

On October 18, the Honor 6X was launched at a press event in China. The new phone shows off dual rear cameras, a 5.5-inch 1080p display, and a metal unibody. The phone also features a Kirin 655 processor, 3 or 4 GB of RAM, 32 or 64 GB of internal storage space, and a 3,340mAh battery.

The Honor 6X runs Huawei’s Emotion UI 4.1 out of the box, and weighs in at 162 grams. You’ll be able to order the new smartphone in gold, silver, or grey, and will start at around $150 for the 3GB RAM/32GB internal storage model

While the device was launched in China, Honor sells its devices internationally through online stores, making it a strong possibility the Honor 6X will get a global release in the future, but the firm often changes the phone’s name in these situations.

Camera

Honor, which is a technology-sharing spin-off brand of Huawei, has launched several exciting phones this year, including the Honor 5C and the more recent Honor 8. The Honor 6X is a sequel to the Honor 5X, and shares some of the features that make the Honor 8 such a winner. The rear-facing camera boasts a 12MP and 2MP sensor, and the front camera has an 8MP sensor.

Honor 6X TENAA Leak

The Honor 8 uses the same dual-lens camera as the Huawei P9, but without all the Leica goodness. The Honor 6X may challenge the Xiaomi Redmi Pro in China, and capitalize on interest in dual camera technology thanks to the iPhone 7 Plus’s announcement.

Specifications

The Honor 5X, which the Honor 6X may replace, is competitively priced at $200, meaning the new phone is also very competitively priced, which makes it a serious bargain for camera fans. Examining the images further, the side view shows a slight camera bump to house the lenses. Honor will install Android 6.0 Marshmallow on the Honor 6X, the phone will have a dual-SIM configuration, and connect to 4G LTE networks.

We’ll keep you updated with all the news and rumors regarding the Honor 6X here.

6 years later, the iPhone X still does one thing better than the iPhone 14 Pro
iPhone X.

I’ve been an iPhone user since the very beginning, starting with the original iPhone. You know, the one with the 3.5-inch display that was perfect at the time, making it super easy to use a phone with one hand? As the years go by, the iPhone — and every other smartphone out there — just get bigger and bigger. We now have phones that with almost 7-inch displays, and honestly, I don’t understand how anyone can comfortably use these giant phones — especially if you have smaller hands!

With the iPhone, we’ve gone from 3.5-inch to 4-inches, then 4.7-inches to 5.8-inches, and now the standard 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch of the iPhone 14/iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Plus/iPhone 14 Pro Max, respectively. I personally use an iPhone 14 Pro as my primary device, and while I have gotten used to the 6.1-inch size over the past few years, I still think it’s too big. In fact, the last perfect size iPhone was the iPhone XS with the 5.8-inch display ... and I really wish Apple would bring it back.
5.8 inches was a perfect middle ground

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X75 ushers in the next era of 5G connectivity
Qualcomm Snapdragon X75.

Qualcomm has just announced the Snapdragon X75, the company's sixth-generation 5G modem that promises to push smartphones and other connected devices into the next phase of 5G technology.

The Snapdragon X75 is the successor to last year's X70, which is the modem found in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 that powers this year's most powerful 5G smartphones — including Samsung's recently unveiled Galaxy S23 Ultra and the OnePlus 11. However, it's more than just an evolution of that earlier modem system, as Qualcomm has packed in support for next-generation 5G Advanced technology along with an entirely new architecture and powerful AI features that will allow mobile devices to access better coverage and achieve even faster speeds.
