Official pictures of the iPhone 5C

Check out our review of the Apple iPhone 5C smartphone.

Confirming all the rumors we’ve been hearing over the past few weeks, Apple finally pulled the curtain back on not one, but two new iPhones today. In addition to the iPhone 5S we were all expecting, the company also unveiled a new, cheaper version of the device: the iPhone 5C.

The jury’s still out on exactly what the C stands for, but it seems that Apple has left the name purposefully ambiguous and open to interpretation. The new phone has a wealth of features that start with C.

For starters, it’s cheaper. The 16GB 5C will reportedly sell for just $100 with a two-year contract. It also comes with a variety of different colors and cases, all of which give consumers a wider range of choices and customization options. C what I mean?

Head over to our full post on the iPhone 5C to learn more about specs, features, and availability.

He says the iPhone 17 Pro might come equipped with this new chip, but other sources suggest it won't get widespread adoption until the iPhone 18.

While they may not be some of the longest-lasting smartphones on the market, modern iPhones boast more than respectable battery life that should be able to get you through an entire day's use without breaking too much of a sweat. Of course, that assumes a lot of things — including a battery that's still relatively new and in good health, plus a usage pattern that doesn't include all-day streaming or gaming.

But for some people, overnight charging isn't going to cut it, and you'll want to get your battery topped up again as quickly as you can so you can get back in action. Thankfully, every iPhone released in the past six years supports much faster charging, but the downside is that with very few exceptions, Apple has never supplied you with the right adapter to get the best possible charging speeds from your iPhone.
