Kyocera And Alienware Sign Into Agreement

The new relationship will match Kyocera Wireless’ reputation for making easy-to-use wireless handsets and accessories with Alienware’s ability to deliver robust gaming solutions for a wide variety ofplatforms, enabling a true gaming experience on Kyocera’s award-winning CDMA wireless phones.

“Kyocera Wireless recognizes that gaming on wireless phones is a rapidly growing market, driven not only by gamers who want a rich gaming experience on their handsets but also by our carrier customers’ desire to drive incremental revenue through game downloads,” said Noel Sobelman, accessories business segment director at Kyocera Wireless Corp. “To drive that revenue, the gaming experience on the phone needs to be as enjoyable as possible, enabled by bigger screens, better games and easy-to-use accessories. Alienware’s history and reputation in the gaming industry makes it an ideal company with which to co-develop gaming accessories that address this savvy and brand-loyal gamer audience using Kyocera phones.”

Alienware has produced some of the gaming industry’s most popular products, including the award-winning Area-51 and Aurora desktop systems, the Area-51m 7700 mobile desktop system, and the Area-51m notebook system. Kyocera Wireless has licensing agreements with some of the wireless industry’s leading game publishers including JAMDAT Mobile, Superscape and Tetris to bring games to its complete lineup of CDMA cellular phones.

The new Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition is the first full-color e-reader, and a lot of bookworms couldn't wait to get their hands on it. Sadly, many people are reporting the display has a discolored yellow area at the bottom of the screen. The problem is so widespread that the Kindle Colorsoft dropped to an average review rating of 2.6 out of 5, although it does remain the bestselling e-book reader at the moment.

The cause of the discoloration isn't clear. Some users report that it only happens when using the edge lighting feature on the Kindle, while others say it appeared after a software update. Either way, the yellowing is a problem, especially on a device that Amazon has marketed as being great for comics and graphic novel fans. It's hard to enjoy the colorwork in a comic when it's distorted.
