The Moto X is one of DT’s favorite phones out right now, even earning our illustrious Editors’ Choice rating. Since its release, Motorola made a handful of attempts to get the handset in the hands of as many people as it could. Even though it was bought by Lenovo, Motorola looks to continue those attempts tomorrow, May 1.

Starting at 12:01am EST and ending at the following midnight, the 16GB Moto X will sell for $300 (regular price $350). Meanwhile, both the 32GB and Developer Edition variants will run for $325. They are normally priced at $400 and $450, respectively. If you want to customize the discounted Moto X through Moto Maker, you can do so, though there will be no discounts on the customizations you make.

This could be seen as Motorola’s attempt to clear inventory in order to make room for the Moto X’s successor, which @evleaks leaked as the Moto X+1. According to the known leaker, the X+1 is “coming soon,” which coincides with Motorola’s February announcement that the Moto X’s successor will be released sometime this summer. It can be assumed that the so-called X+1 will receive a modest spec bump in order to stay competitive, though look for customizability to once again be a cornerstone of the yet-to-be-announced handset.

Then again, with Mother’s Day right around the corner, a Moto X might be something she would appreciate.
