Motorola repackages Droid Turbo 2 for UK buyers, removes hideous Verizon logo

moto-x-force
Motorola has announced a new smartphone coming to market outside of the United States, called the Moto X Force. It is essentially the Droid Turbo 2 announced for Verizon earlier this week, without the atrocious Verizon logo on the front.

The Moto X Force will be the first smartphone to offer Motorola’s Shattershield display. Motorola has worked on the display for three years, and is so confident that the 5.4-inch quad-HD display won’t shatter that it’s offering a four-year repair guarantee for any accidental damage.

For additional points in the strength category, the Moto X Force also comes with a water-repellent coating to protect from small splashes. Motorola is not as confident on this feature to offer a repair guarantee, but it may still save the phone from heavy rain or a quick dip.

Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM, and a massive 3,760mAh battery with fast charging power the Moto X Force. On the back sits a 21-megapixel Sony sensor with dual-LED flash and optical image stabilization.

The Moto X Force will be available in a variety of materials, including leather, ballistic nylon, and durable soft-touch polycarbonate. Customers will be able to choose the design through the Moto Maker tool, though carrier specific options may be available in the United Kingdom.

Motorola plans to upgrade the Moto X Force to Android 6.0 Marshmallow by the end of the year, but at launch it will run Android 5.1 Lollipop. Similar to most Motorola phones, it will run near-stock Android, with a few Moto programs to help make life easier.

The Moto X Force will be available in the United Kingdom by mid-November, costing £499 for 32GB or £534 for 64GB of storage.

2021 Motorola Moto G series: Here’s which phone you should buy
Best Moto G Power (2021) cases

The Motorola Moto G series has long been a great way to get an affordable phone that still offers solid features. The 2021 iteration of that series is no exception to that rule. With three new phones in the lineup, there should be something for anyone who wants to spend $250 or less on a phone.

Before we go on, of course, it's worth noting that if you can stretch your budget a little, you should. The Moto G series is awesome, but if you can spend $350 on a Pixel 4a, it's worth doing so, for the better performance, better camera, and a better software experience. Alternatively, you'll get among the best performance in the biz by jumping ship from Android entirely and going for the $400 iPhone SE.

The new Motorola Moto G family brings camera upgrades and enticing prices
motorola moto g family 2021 news series 1

The Moto G has long been a go-to for those who want a solid phone for $300 or less, and now, Motorola is giving its Moto G lineup another refresh -- and expansion, in a way. The new 2021 models of the Moto G Play, Moto G Power, and Moto G Stylus have been announced for CES 2021, along with a revamped version of the Motorola One, called the Motorola One 5G Ace.

None of the new phones are radically different from their predecessors, but they didn't really need to be. They add a few new features, camera improvements, and in the case of the Motorola One 5G Ace, a much lower price tag.

The best Motorola Razr (2019) cases and covers
Folding the new Motorola razr.

The Motorola Razr is a modern reimagining of one of the most fondly-remembered phones of all time -- the Motorola Razr V3. Capitalizing on the recent trend for foldable phones, 2019's Motorola Razr crams a 6.2-inch display into a form factor that can be folded up and easily slipped into a pocket. It's the ultimate in pocketable phones, and it looks great to boot. But it's certainly not cheap, and you'll want to keep your folding phone safe from the hazards of daily life. Here are some of the best Motorola Razr (2019) cases and covers to keep it safe.
Olixar Clear Case

The Motorola Razr is unlike most phones in that even a large case isn't likely to obscure what it is -- but still, we love the simplicity of a clear case, and for an inexpensive day-to-day case, you can't go wrong with Olixar's simple, clear case. As with all cases for the Razr, it's a two-piece case and is made from TPU. This soft material is easy to grip, and while it's not the most protective case around, it will still protect against scratches and small dings. It's thin, which means it doesn't add much bulk to your device, and while it's not the case for anyone going on adventures (or anyone who is just clumsy), it's still a great budget option.
