Motorola Could Jump to Head of Phone Pack With 2GHz Phone

Smartphones are about to get a whole lot smarter as Motorola has announced that its next smartphone will pack a whopping 2GHz processor. To put that in perspective, that means that by the end of the year, you might be holding a cell phone in your hands that is more than twice as fast as the computers used to take man to the moon. By comparison, the iPhone runs at a bit above a 1GHz processor speed.

Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha confirmed the release earlier today, but was tight lipped on the details. According to Conceivably Tech, a source has claimed that the new phone will include everything that is technologically possible to be included in a smartphone, it will be Andorid based, and include a graphics card that will include Flash support.

As an iPhone user for over the past decade, I found the iPhone 16 launch exciting, as Apple finally gave us some of the best darn colors for the base model in quite some time. And don’t forget that the base models also got quite a few features previously exclusive to the Pro models, like the Action button, a two-year jump in power with the A18, and the new Camera Control button that's on all iPhone 16 variations.

Doctor suggests regulating phones like smoking to curb addiction

A doctor working for the World Health Organization (WHO) has suggested it may be beneficial for countries to regulate digital devices like smartphones in a similar way to age- and location-restricted products like cigarettes to combat growing concern over smartphone and social media addiction. Manufacturers like Human Made Devices (HMD) have also highlighted the issue, and introduced devices designed to help people digitally detox, along with a plan to create phones for teens with the help of parents through The Better Phone Project.

Dr. Natasha Azzopardi Muscat, director of the Division of Country Health Policies and Systems for the WHO, speaking at the European Health Forum, told Politico: “Maybe we need to think about where it is appropriate to use digital devices, and maybe it's also time to start thinking about places where certain digital devices should not be used, just as we have banned smoking in certain areas.”
