The OnePlus 2 is being shown off to the world at a special launch event tomorrow, and the company is making sure all the necessary preparation work has been done in advance. Over the weekend OnePlus has opened up the invite system for its next flagship and also pushed out an Android app for tuning into tomorrow’s launch event.

Like the first phone, the OnePlus 2 is going to be available on an invite-only basis, at least to begin with. To get your name down for one you need to register your email address and cross your fingers, pester someone who nabs has a OnePlus 2 (and will get a handful of invites with it) or watch out for one of the regular competitions and promotions OnePlus organizes.

The original OnePlus One came from (almost) nowhere to leave a lasting impression on the smartphone market. The Chinese startup behind the phone managed to produce a handset that was well designed, powerful in the performance department and on sale for a great price — provided you could get an invite, of course.

Now the OnePlus 2 is looking to repeat the trick. We know it’s going to feature a Snapdragon 810, a fingerprint sensor, the new USB Type-C connector, and the company’s own OxygenOS software. There have been plenty of rumors surrounding the phone’s other specs and features, which we’ve collected together for you here.

If you have an Android device, you can tune into the launch event tomorrow at 7 p.m. PDT. The app will work on a standard phone or tablet but you make the most of the experience you need to hook it up with a VR viewer like Google Cardboard at the same time. In a few hours from now, we’ll know everything about what OnePlus has been working on for the past 12 months.

You can now preorder the OnePlus Pad for $99 … kind of
The back of the OnePlus Pad tablet.

Fans who are excited to finally be getting their hands on the OnePlus Pad are now able to preorder the tablet ... sort of.

Preorders for the OnePlus Pad went live today. However, it's not a preorder in the traditional sense where someone would pay full price for an item upfront and then receive it when it launches for no extra charge. Instead, fans are able to put down a $99 down payment to reserve their spot in "line" for the tablet when it releases later this year.
