OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G gets leaked ahead of launch

While OnePlus is prepping to launch the Nord 2T and Nord CE 2, a new Nord series smartphone has popped up online. The OnePlus Nord CE 2 could get a Lite variant, and it is reportedly launching soon. It is likely going to be a budget offering with 5G connectivity.

The OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G specifications have appeared online, courtesy of OnLeaks in association with Smartprix. It will feature a 6.59-inch Full HD display with a high refresh rate. The rumored display size is bigger than the 6.43-inch screen found on the original Nord CE 5G. It is likely to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G SoC, paired with 6GB/8GB of RAM, and 128GB/256GB storage.

The upcoming budget smartphone will get a triple rear camera setup. It will be led by a 64-megapixel primary lens along with two 2MP lenses, so it’s basically a single workable camera with two 2MP lenses. On the front could lie a 16MP selfie shooter. It will pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33-watt fast charging support.

The smartphone is expected to launch soon.

The OnePlus Nord CE 2 is likely to feature a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset and get up to 12GB RAM, which could be the differentiating factor from the Lite variant. As for the cameras, it could swap a 2MP camera for an 8MP lens, with the other two being 64MP and 2MP shooters. The front camera is likely to remain the same as the Lite version.

The OnePlus Nord CE 2is rumored to be launched on February 11, 2022. The company could also launch the Nord 2T in April, perhaps after an announcement during Mobile World Congress.

OnePlus’ plans to launch a tablet are definitely no secret. We have seen a bunch of leaks in the past year or so that hint toward its imminent launch. Now, tipster Max Jambor has revealed that the tablet is in development and will be launched next year. The company will make its foray into the tablet market with this rumored offering called the "OnePlus Pad." Since the company competes closely with Apple’s smartphones, there’s a possibility that the OnePlus Pad may take direct aim at Apple's iPads.

Jambor’s tweet did not reveal an exact launch timeline, so when the tablet will arrive exactly is still unknown.

OnePlus is intent on dominating the budget smartphone market in the U.S., and its latest weapon to achieve that objective is the Nord N300. A successor to the well-received Nord N200, the latest OnePlus offering brings a few tricks to the party — such as 33W charging speed, something even high-end phones sold in the market miss out on.

To start, the OnePlus Nord N300 offers a 6.56-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a water drop notch at the top. The display resolution is somewhat of a perplexing downgrade, as the OnePlus Nord N200 hit the shelves packing a full-HD+ display, complete with high refresh rate goodness.

OnePlus has teased that the Nord N300, the successor to the Nord N200, is coming out in the U.S. next month with 33-watt fast charging — an important feature that budget-conscious shoppers will appreciate. The news comes by way of The Verge, which received confirmation of the N300's launch via a OnePlus spokesperson.

It's likely that its battery, when fully depleted, will be recharged within 30 minutes. When you look at the OnePlus 10T and OnePlus 10 Pro, the former has 125W fast charging, which powers up its battery to a full charge in exactly 20 minutes, while the latter has 65W fast charging, bringing its battery to full power in about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, the Nord N200 had 18W charging, which means charging its battery takes a little while longer.
