When a press release vows to take “consumers to the edge of wonder and beyond,” it’s hard not to be at least curious — especially when that boastful bit of PR-speak comes from Samsung’s official announcement of it’s 2011 product showcase, which is currently on display in New York City.

The showcase includes a wide range of Samsung products, including new TVs, notebooks, cameras and some nifty odds and ends.

First up is Samsung’s line of 44 new HDTV models, which come in the LED, LCD, plasma, 3D and Internet-connected smart variety. Of those, three quarters will have access to Samsung’s Smart Hub interface, which includes a full web browser, a “recommendation engine” and the Samsung Apps marketplace.

To add to their Smart TV user experience, the company also introduced its new QWERTY flip remote, which comes with the D7000 and D8000 HDTVs, or as an separate accessory with the HDTVs in the D6300 line and up.

For the 3D TV user, Samsung has a new line of 3D glasses, as well as a 3D “starter kit” that includes two pairs of 3D glasses, a Blu-ray 3D version of Dreamwork Animation’s Megamind and the complete Shrek collection.

In terms of laptops, Samsung delivered heavily for the professional sector, with Series 2, Series 4 and Series 6 laptop lines. Both the Series 2 and Series 4 lines will come in the 12.5- and 14-inch variety. While the 12.5-inch Series 2 will be powered by an Intel Celeron processor, the 14-inch, as well as both Series 4 models, will pack a Sandy Bridge Core CPU. (The Series 4 has i3, i5 and i7 Sandy Bridge chip options. The Series 2 only comes with the i3 CPU.)
